"It is easy to maintain. We have had a few startup problems, but surprisingly few", Monica Larssen, IT co-ordinator/ advisor in Harstad municipality says.

 Harstad municipality has got 14 schools using Skolelinux, with 3004 students and 400 employees in the schools in the 2008/2009 semester.

– The schools have happily embraced the new system, here are some of what the users are saying : 

• "It just works"
• "Wow, this is good"
• "There is a lot software available"
• "How can we get it at home", the students ask

– Some of our teachers have been ‘afraid’ of the new system, but with some guidance and coursing they have embraced it.

– The pupils had no problems starting to use it, they just use it.
